Investing in the Future of Rural Healthcare

Sundre Hospital Futures is dedicated to improving healthcare services in Sundre and surrounding communities

Caring about the health and well-being of local communities is part of being a good neighbour. That’s why we were thrilled to donate to Sundre Hospital Futures, an organization dedicated to providing residents of rural communities with better healthcare services.

Originally formed as a Physician Recruitment and Retention committee, the group is dedicated to the goal of recruiting and training healthcare professionals.

Our donation went toward the new Hal Irvine Simulation Lab, the first of its kind in small town Alberta. The lab was named after Dr. Irvine, who held a firm belief in rural education and partnered with the University of Calgary to bring resident doctors in to Sundre as part of their training.

Sundre Hospital Futures Committee wrote on Facebook, “Big thanks to Pieridae Energy for their generous donation of $5,000.00 toward computers and screens for our new e-SIM lab. Karlee Overguard (Environmental Coordinator) and Thalia Aspeslet (Community Liaison) from Pieridae joined Hospital Futures Chair Gerald Ingeveld at the lab on Friday.”
