Pieridae Employees Support Cochrane Food Bank
Much-Needed Help Comes at a Crucial Time
Last week I talked about how Pieridae had supported the Village of Caroline, Alberta during this COVID-19 pandemic with support to help seniors through the local Meals in Wheels program.
Driving south down Highway 22, the Town of Cochrane’s food bank has seen demand spike by 30%. Out of funding, the food bank is relying on donations to deal with the increased need. To compound the situation, they can’t take deliveries of food. Purchasing what they need in bulk from a large supplier is the only option. So, the hourly employees at our Jumping Pound gas complex thoughtfully raised $5,000 for the food bank, and Pieridae matched that, bringing the overall donation to $10,000.
“The Cochrane Activettes Food Bank would like to thank Pieridae Energy and its employees for such a generous donation to our Food Bank. Our Food Bank has been so fortunate to have such a wonderful community and business sector behind us, supporting our need for money and food. We are overwhelmed how generous everyone is being in this crisis.
We could not do this without businesses like yours and your employees who care so much and want to help."
Extremely Grateful,
