Helping Local Businesses Move the Economy Forward

Waterton Gas Plant Supports Pincher Creek Business Recovery Support Program

Small businesses have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19. They are the ‘backbone’ of many towns, so local economies are suffering.

The Pincher Creek & District Chamber of Commerce (@PincherChamber) and the Town of Pincher Creek (@TownofPincherCreek) are taking action to help strengthen these businesses through the Pincher Creek Business Recovery Support Program (BRSP).

Eligible local businesses will benefit from access to professional business services specifically matched with them by business support specialist Bob Dydra. The first phase provides up to 10 hours or $500 of support, and the second phase provides up to $1000 of support.

Pieridae's Waterton Gas Plant, active in the area since 1957, provided financial support for the BRSP through its Social Investment Fund.

As part of the BRSP, the Pincher Creek & District Chamber of Commerce and SASCI have also launched the #LoveLocalPC campaign. Residents are encouraged to share their local purchases on social media through the hashtag for a chance to win $200 in local gift certificates weekly plus the $1000 grand prize. The grand prize draw will be held at the ‘Awards of Excellence’ which celebrates Alberta’s small business week.
