Pieridae Holds Information Sessions in Nova Scotia

While COVID kept many of us from travelling to beautiful Guysborough Country, we virtually joined our team on the ground in Nova Scotia as Pieridae held a series of information sessions for close to 60 local residents, designed to share our updated plans for the realignment of Highway 316.

The highway needs to be moved so that we can build the multi-billion-dollar Goldboro LNG export facility. The new design deals with community concerns, would have less impact on the environment and allows vehicles to safely travel around the site.

Goldboro LNG is a trans-national project that would benefit Canadians from coast to coast. Besides creating up to 5,000 jobs during construction, and more in the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario and Alberta, the project supports First Nations reconciliation, as we recently signed a partnership agreement with the Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq with the goal of building a $720 million workforce lodge to house all the workers on-site.

And with LNG producing 50% fewer emissions than coal, LNG from Goldboro shipped to Europe can help reduce overall global emissions.

Below you can find recordings of the first two sessions (the third session was essentially a repeat of the second session):
